Not to be outdone, ABS-CBN, the other major TV network, reported Tuesday that the airport itself is being investigated and had been closed. They reported that …
… The temporary closure of the Plaridel Airport in Bulacan, pending investigation of the mid-air collision of two light aircrafts [sic] last Sunday.
How an inanimate entity like an airport can be involved in a mid-air collision is a great piece of investigative reporting.
I always thought that inorganic objects are automatically innocent, since it is impossible for anything without brains to be stupid.
ABS-CBN also reported that the other airplanes of the flying schools are grounded, so the airplanes are also clearly at fault.
Cessna airplanes belonging to flight schools WCC Aviation Company and Fliteline Aviation have also been grounded
Operations weren’t just suspended. The airplanes are ‘grounded’.
This is akin to all cabs being banned after two cabs hit each other at an intersection. And by the way, the intersection itself would be closed “pending investigation”.
The Cessna 150 has been in operation for 48 years. Over 23,900 were built. Thousands are still flying all over the world.
Plaridel airport was built in 1935 by the US Bureau of Aeronautics. After 72 years of operation, that airport cannot suddenly have become dangerous.
Perhaps ABS-CBN could suspend its reporter’s pen pending investigation of the his investigative reporting.
Only two things are infinite — the universe, and human stupidity. And I’m not sure about the universe.
